Important Keyboard Shortcuts (Must Use)

There are many keyboard shortcuts we hardly ever or never use. But if we start using them It saves a lot of time, Though we use many keyshortcuts such as ctrl+c for copy , ctrl+v for paste etc.

In addition with this a Techno should use all the keys for faster computing and saving a lot of time, also it’s very useful for Laptop and Palmtop users. Here’s a list of all the windows keyboard shortcut keys.

The keys which are not usually used or important are highlighted.

Windows Shortcut Keys:

“ALT”


ALT+F4: Closes current window / program (usually)
ALT+Space: Opens window title bar menu

ALT+(underlined letter) : opens the menu or corresponding button with the underlined word. e.g. In an explorer if u press ALT + F it opens the menu “File”.



”Windows Key”


Windows Key + L: Locks computer (if your account is has a password) or Switches the current user in Windows XP.
Windows Key + R : Opens "Run"
Windows Key + E: Opens Explorer
Windows Key + M: Minimize all windows
Windows Key + Shift + M: Maximize all windows
Windows Key + D: Show desktop
Windows Key + Pause|Break : Open System Properties
Windows Key + F: Open Windows File Find/Search
Windows Key +Tab : Cycle task bar buttons without that display thing (enter / space to select)

”CTRL”


CTRL+C: Copy
CTRL+V: Paste
CTRL+X: Cut
CTRL+Z: Undo
CTRL+A: Select All
CTRL+F: Find
CTRL+W: Closes current window
CTRL+F4: Closes currently focused 'form' / window in an MDI application, rather than the entire program.

Mozilla Firefox Shortcut Keys:

Ctrl + T opens a new tab and

Ctrl + Tab cycles through the tabs

Shortcut Keys Related to Browsers:

Ctrl+ Enter- throws the www and the .com on a domain name.

Eg. If u type google in the address bar and press Ctrl+Enter it will put the URL to www.google.com and will open that page.

There is also a shortcut for .org and .net
The working of following keys is similat to Ctrl+Enter.

Shift + Enter = adds .net

Ctrl + Shift + Enter = adds .org

These keys works well with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox but may not be with Opera or others!
